Each piece is developed around the volume it will hang in - its proportion, its sightlines and the way daylight and lamplight move through cut crystal.

Crafted in the Czech Republic
Bohemian crystal, made by hand
Berkana fixtures are manufactured in the Czech Republic by Elite Bohemia, using Bohemian crystal and a process that remains roughly ninety-nine percent handwork: glass drawn and blown, cut, polished, assembled, wired and tested by the same workshop.
Berkana is the North American face of that work - developing project requirements, coordinating custom design with the Czech team, and supporting the project through installation.
Berkana itself is run by one family. A commission is answered by an owner, not an account manager.

Typical production windows: small fixtures approximately 5-6 weeks, medium and semi-large approximately 6-8 weeks, large custom compositions 8 weeks and up, quoted by project. Cataloged designs can move faster because the base engineering already exists.
