Custom Chandeliers

What to send us

  • Room length, width, and ceiling height, plus a section if the ceiling is vaulted or double-height.
  • Mounting condition — joist, concrete slab, existing box — and any weight limit from the engineer.
  • Finish direction: polished brass, antique brass, bronze, nickel, chrome, or a custom match.
  • Whether the fixture is on a dimmer, and the control system if one is specified.
  • Reference images or a mood direction, and the date the piece must be on site.

Sizing a bespoke piece

Start from the room, not the catalog. Sum the room's length and width in feet and read the number as inches for a starting diameter. Over a dining table, aim for one-half to two-thirds of the table width and 30–36 inches of clearance above the top. In a double-height foyer, allow 2.5–3 inches of fixture height per foot of ceiling and center the piece in the entry window as seen from the street. Custom work exists precisely because these numbers rarely land on a stock size.

What customization actually covers

  • Overall form, tier count, and silhouette.
  • Crystal type, color, cut, and density — from clear to smoked, amber, blue, and violet.
  • Frame material and finish, including matching to existing hardware in the room.
  • Drop length, canopy type, and sloped-ceiling adaptation.
  • Lamping and dimming to suit the control system already specified.

Budget and trade treatment

Custom pricing follows crystal weight, cut complexity, and metalwork. Because the fixture comes from an EU member state, tariff treatment is generally more favorable than for comparable Asian production, and there is no distributor layer between the Czech workshop and your project. Both differences show up in the quote rather than in our margin.

After installation

Every piece ships with custom care instructions and spare crystal elements for future replacement, and an optional annual maintenance program is available. Dust monthly with microfiber or compressed air, deep-clean annually with mild soap and water, and use LED lamps only — heat from incandescent bulbs degrades finishes and adhesives over time.

Common questions

Yes. Berkana USA commissions bespoke Bohemian crystal chandeliers directly with Czech workshops. You supply the brief — dimensions, ceiling height, finish, mood, any reference imagery — and receive renderings and material selections for approval before production begins.

Typically 6–12 weeks end to end: 1–2 weeks of consultation, 2–3 weeks of design development, 4–8 weeks of artisan production in the Czech Republic, and 2–3 weeks for shipping and installation. Lead times are confirmed at order placement.

Room dimensions, ceiling height, mounting condition, desired finish, any weight or electrical constraints, the installation date, and reference images or a mood direction. A rough budget band helps scope the crystal weight realistically.

Berkana coordinates door-to-door delivery from the Czech workshop to the project site and supports professional installation, which ensures the fixture safely handles its weight and wiring. Spare crystal elements and custom care instructions ship with every piece.
